KALA News Today Headlines – Nov. 14, 2019
QUAD CITIES (KALA) — An I-74 update and a community comfort drive are today’s KALA News Today Headlines.
We start off with an I-74 update. If the weather holds up, contractors will begin setting steel girders today and working on the overhead structure for the bridge. That means the Riverfront Trail between 12th Street and George Thuenen Drive in Bettendorf will be closed for about a month. That’s near the Isle Casino and Hotel. Click here to see the map of detour routes.
The Rock Island Public Library is giving back to the community in a new way. This month, they are hosting a Community Comforts Donation Drive for the first time. They’re looking to collect items and resources to help local organizations fight homelessness and housing insecurity. Toiletries, non-perishable food times, paper products, cleaning supplies, and new clothes can be donated. You can find the donation boxes at every library location until the end of this month.
