KALA is located on the second floor of St. Ambrose University’s Galvin Fine Arts and Communication Center in Davenport, Iowa. The mission of KALA-FM is to provide a broadcast quality learning lab for St. Ambrose University’s communication students and to serve the Quad Cities community with diverse music, news, and information.
Jazz, blues, world, urban adult contemporary, new rock, Hispanic, Latin jazz, gospel; public service programming (syndicated and locally-produced); local, state, and national news. Occasional live music, features, news, and live home/remote coverage of St. Ambrose University sports events.
KALA has three state-of-the-art digital production and one on-air studio satellite downlinks. Our working music archive includes some 8,000 vinyl albums and more than 40,000 CDs, licensed commercial music library and sound effects. Program underwriting and production rates are available upon request.
